Driving home from Physical Therapy I notice the downtown sycamore trees are now sprouting tiny pale green leaves. Every year these naked limbs surprise me with the new growth. Surprise me and fill me with delight. Each time I leave the house something new pop ups in the town.
The rain starts up in the morning. The birds keep busy in the bottle bush tree. A stormy day today. When the birds are hungry nothing stops them.
Physical Therapy session goes well. We meet for a half an hour while the PT has me do a variety of exercises. The goal, easier stair climbing and better balance. I confess that I had been looking for excuses to stay home. I am energized at the end of the session.
A favorite author has a new book out. STILL LIFE AT EIGHTY, the next interesting thing by Abigail Thomas. A collection of short essays focused on her life. I am glad to be reading it. Not one mention of Trump or Musk, just familiar old age issues.
