Now, here is an upsetting movie. THELMA on Hulu. The story of a 93 year old woman who chases after scammers who cheat her of $10,000. She looks, walks, and acts like an old old woman. Well done, somewhat funny, and reminds me how afraid I am of getting really old. Movies of old men are cute and funny, but of old women, I don’t know. It is hard to admit my fears and prejudices. Maybe it is time to look in the mirror and get familiar with the look of aging.
My thanksgiving plans are good. My daughter, who is recovering from her surgery, and I will be together to watch movies and to eat a home delivered meal. The city’s First Responders will deliver the thanksgiving meals to us. Maybe the tall man will join us.
Puddles in the driveway and more rain. Birds fluffing themselves in the bottle bush tree. Not so cold. Heater on. I am so lucky.
I am living partially in Iceland as I continue reading SILENCE OF THE GRAVES. Much colder there then here. In the movie Thelma is never seen reading books. Something to think about.
