A heavy cardboard box arrives in the dark last night. Too heavy for me to carry, too dark and cold outside to ponder the options. This morning, I plan to push it into the house, and ask the next strong visitor to move the box to the table. Yes, I can do this. These boxes come every week with needed medical supplies.
For weeks I have been intrigued reading Dr. Oliver Sacks’s stories. Last night I watch the movie AWAKENINGS, based on his book. I cry at the end as the patients reverted back to their hopeless lives when the new medication failed.
My west coast daughter is buying ornaments for a Christmas tree this year. She is a fabulous thrift store shopper. The East coast daughter is obtaining the tree. I don’t have to do anything but appreciate them. I am hoping the tall man will cook Christmas Eve dinner.
I am reading Arnaldur Indridason’s detective story SILENCE OF THE GRAVE, a thriller set in Iceland. The second of a series. Yep, I haven’t run out of detective novels set in foreign countries. A good way to travel while sitting in my recliner.
