In the late afternoon I walk to the end of the block and back for the first time in months. No neighborhood Labor Day barbeque this year. Time for the younger neighbors to take up the event.

I am so excited and soon overwhelmed with the Sunday book review’s list of the best books in the 21st century. I have read some, but the others are waiting for me. Use the library, buy them cheap on line, borrow from friends?  Too many books, too many options. That desire to not miss out on something is kicking in. And what about the other great books not on the list.

The patient’s friend, the traveler, stays for several days and then leaves.  A whirl of energy, good conversation, and cuts up the waiting watermelon. She is invited to return anytime.

We watch apple plus show, THE TIME TRAVELERS, in the evening. Two episodes. Low key entertainment with some laughs. I am reading 36 YALTA BOULEVARD by Olen Steinhauer, a detective story set in the 1960’s Eastern Europe.
