In the afternoon, the sun is out but still a bit cool. Walk to the mail box and pick up two days of mail. Talk with several friends. Fold laundry, wash dishes. Same old, same old.
I keep describing my experiences at the infusion center. Why do I need to keep repeating the same old story. I want to understand something that I can’t quite grasp myself.
This morning, 6am and I am awake. I hear the roar of the day’s first airplane. Dark bedroom, except for the lopsided moon shining through the skylight. 52 degrees in my bedroom. Quickly I turn on the heater and go to the kitchen for my coffee and cereal.
I am reading THE AMERICAN BEST ESSAYS, 2023, edited by my favorite author Vivian Gornick. I read one or two essay a day, all of them worthwhile.
