Monday morning is my third chemo infusion day, more docetaxel dripping into this old body. The procedure is familiar and now easier. The medicine (or poison) is a clear liquid. It is meant to heal me. Both the blood and the urine tests, before the procedure, report that I am strong and healthy enough for the treatment. The tall man drives me home and I have a quiet day with a lot of napping and some food. Three more weekly infusions in this cycle.
I watch several tv shows in the morning during treatment. In the afternoon it is naps and reading. Currently reading another mystery story by Elly Griffiths, THE NIGHT HAWKS.
The tall man takes the garbage bins to the curb. Moving the bins marks the beginning of a new week.
Monday is a no caffeine day. This morning, I am sitting in my blue recliner, wearing my orange puffer jacket, drinking my first cup of coffee of the day. Doesn’t get better than this.
