I couldn’t find my cell phone this morning. I was sure that the rat had taken it. My desk
was messed up. Later I found the cell
phone in the living room and I remembered that I had messed my desk. Sigh.
Morning, four small kids, pant legs rolled up, wearing warm
jackets were chasing the small ripples of ocean washing up at Lovers Point
beach. Jumping and shouting and racing back
up the sand to unsuccessfully avoid the cold water.
I duck taped the old wooden cupboard door that would not stay
closed.
For weeks I have been reading slowly WOMEN ROWING NORTH,
navigating life’s currents and flourishing as we are, by Mary Pipher. Can’t decide whether I like it or not but
still when feeling sad or tired I pick up the book and read another chapter.
