I remind my family I wear these ancient torn sneakers every day because they are comfortable, not because I am confused or poor. Well, maybe I am a bit confused and a bit poor. Inflation and old age are a part of my life. And I don’t want to get hurt falling because of new shoes.
Today I meet with old friends for lunch, the highlight of my week. Time to find out what is happening outside of my neighborhood, outside of facebook and the tv news.
Tax time. I want to stop by the library and pick up the latest state and federal tax forms. I can do my own taxes because my financial life is pretty simple. And I don’t care if I make mistakes. I used to be a perfectionist, but that is long gone. The only rule I follow is to get the signed forms in by the deadline. Other mistakes are fine with me. I suspect the IRS folks are tired of working on paper forms from my age group.
Stormy Wednesday, alternating dark clouds, wind and heavy rain with an occasional sunshine break through. The trees and bushes are glistening this morning in the sunlight. I talk to friends on the phone, read, take naps and eat my meals on wheels food. All is good with me.
