A friend and her puppy visit. We sit out on the deck. As the day warms up we move our chairs to keep in the shade. The sun keeps moving across the sky. The puppy is busy and then rests. He keeps an eye on us as we talk.
It’s Sunday and my roommate and I are lazy. She finally waters the plants in the front garden and the back deck. I finish reading the current mystery novel, MIDNIGHT AT THE BRIGHT IDEAS BOOKS STORE, by Matthew Sullivan. Well written and complicated story.
At night before sleeping, after the lights are off, the moon light shines through the bedroom skylight and the crickets’ chirping come through the open window. And of course, the barking dogs.
Started reading THE TRIGGERING TOWN, lectures and essays on poetry and writing, by Richard Hugo.
