     In the late afternoon while visiting with two close friends we talk about politics and fear. Our information comes from news reports of various kinds. We agree and don’t agree about what is happening in our country. Our information is not first hand, and we have strong different opinions on what should be done. In the end I am exhausted  and my voice is gone. Too much loud talking for me.

     I watch the puppy chase its tail in a circle on the deck. Warm overcast afternoon. He finally tires and looks for other interests. His tail wins. He falls asleep on his human’s lap.

     In the evening, we watch the first episode of OUTRAGEOUS, A series about the Mitford girls before World War 11. A charming series.

     I am slowly reading James Ishmael Ford ‘s new book, THE INTIMATE WAY OF ZEN, effort, surrender and awakening on the spiritual journey. All of his books are interesting. It is a relief to review some of the Zen teachings.
