Tuesday’s NYT’s science section is full of interesting news about actually, science. Scientists study bits and pieces of this huge unknowable world. Being a live human being is a huge experience. I am relieved to see that we are all a bit unsure in living our lives. Is this confusing? yep it is confusing to me too.

A friend is driving me for my urology appointment tomorrow. Time to look at what is next in treatment and possibilities. I expect that the actual meeting will be short, so time to focus on my real questions and concerns. Just as doctors study for years to become good doctors, I wish there was training for becoming an effective patient. Frequently, it is like living in a foreign country struggling with a new language.

I am reading two interesting books now, THE EMPEROR OF GLADNESS, a novel by Ocean Vuong, and THE THREE OF US, a memoir of a year in living in New York City, by Joanna Coles and Peter Godwin.

Stuff is piling up in the house as I spend healing time napping and listening to classical music. This time for recovery is changing as I begin to notice what needs to be done to keep my life going.
