Cold wet morning, no puddles, just damp streets. I join the silent group waiting at the lab for blood tests requiring 12 hour fasting. Mostly old, one woman is asleep curled up on the waiting room chair. Lights are dim. Two younger men speaking Spanish, are struggling to complete forms. Enough chairs in the waiting room to keep at bay sitting next to a stranger.
I wonder who are the folks born on June 20, 1940. I am told there are at least twenty people, still alive, in the local medical files with this birthdate. I fantasize all twenty of us marching together in the fourth of July parade. Well not marching, maybe sitting on a float or having matching wheel chairs. We were born in a unique time of history that seemed normal to our families. Any ideas on how to reach out to this group?
I am totally entranced with THE PITT. The stories and visuals are so familiar to me. I have become a occasional visitor to our local emergency room. There is definitely a lot of living going on there.
The last two books I started reading soon became familiar. Yep, I have read them before even If I can’t quite remember the plot.
