There was little music in my childhood home.  At U.C. Berkeley I begin learning the language of classical music. I fall in love with a fellow student who has an ear for music. One summer I take a music appreciation class on the nine symphonies of Beethoven. He helps me learn the music. Now he is long gone but I still enjoy these nine symphonies. I listen to classical music on KPFA most days.

Rachel Maddow reports daily on the many resistance events happening across the county.  Today is Saturday a day for more resistance rallies. I am encouraged for our democracy. My contribution is the willingness to witness the atrocities  and the kindness occurring in our country now.

The potted plants are blooming now.  I have given them fertilizer and water. Several pots are hosting surprise plants, grasses, oak seedlings, geraniums, unnamed plants. I love seeing what pops up in the soil.

I play computer solitaire daily to relax from all the words around me. I like the randomness of the game. And I am winning more games.
