Cold morning. I sit wearing my green puffer jacket while eating a light breakfast. I eat a COSTCO hot dog for lunch yesterday. I am too old for these hot dogs and took awhile to recover from the feast. Sun is out but still a cold day.
I used to love eating these $1.50 hot dogs at noon at COSTCO. After I retired, I joined the older folks who wanted a cheap lunch. Singles, couples, many languages being spoken. This was my tribe. I assume they have all moved on. I have moved on. I don’t know where cheap lunches are now.
Do old men still gather for morning coffee. McDonalds was the meeting place for a group of old Asian men in the early morning. Each coffee place had their own early morning old men’s groups. I noticed an Italian men’s group, a retired Monterey employee group, a wealthy financial group, a MIIS faculty group. The COVID epidemic changed our world. I kept looking for a group of older women who met for early morning coffee daily.
I binged watch many episodes of RECIPES FOR LOVE AND MURDER during Saturday afternoon. This is another step in becoming an old lady stuck at home. I don’t plan to do this again. I am getting stronger. But it was kind of fun.
