 Wednesday, June 19, 2024

Comic books are a big deal in the 1940’s. The next door neighbor girl has a stack of comic books in her closet and sometimes are allowed to read them.  Her mom has a victory garden with fresh tomatoes.  The problem is she is a protestant and we are catholic.  Our families do not mingle.

The personal librarian is back from her travels and brings a stack of books and friendly conversation.  I decide to stick with DEMON COPPERHEAD, only 100 more pages to go. My favorite books by Barbara Kingsolver are her early ones based in Arizona. Reminds me of the Arizona I knew.

Watch the last episode of WE ARE LADY PARTS in the late afternoon.  The living room is flooded with sun light washing out the dark scenes on the TV.

This morning, dogs barking, trucks parking on the street, sun is out.  Weather report says that it will be cool today.
