In the early morning I have intense memories of my childhood yearly Good Friday’s three hour vigil, witnessing the reenactment of the torture and murder of a holy man. Did these intense vigils contributed to my ability to read mystery stories where the dead body is someone tortured and murdered?

After the vigil, the family would go to fisherman’s wharf for a joyous lunch of cracked crab and sourdough bread.

Stayed in the house all Wednesday. Cold and windy outside.  Wednesday’s mail is still waiting for me outside. Took a shower, did several loads of wash. Ate my meals on wheels food and read books. Happily watched more commentary on the tribulations of the old maga man.

Started reading CUTTING FOR STONE by Abraham Verghese.  I couldn’t read this book when it came out 2009. But now I am really caught up in the story.
