For days I have been hoping for rain so I don’t have to
water the front yard. Clouds, cool air, looks promising.
My visiting daughter gently reminds me that I am repeating
my medical stories. She reminds me it is
time for new narratives. It is time to get out more and have more experiences.
I am reading Stephen Batchelor’s book THE ART OF SOLITUDE
now. Slowly, carefully. Most of my
experiences now involve waiting and being patient. Few stories arise when
nothing is happening.
Maybe I have to give up being entertaining and interesting. Time to be dull and alive.
