A friend collapses at Brown Bag Zen Friday. We sit quietly
while the first responders work with him, and take him to the hospital. The crew is calm, competent and kind.
The day heats up and now the evening is still warm. Saw the flash of a red wood pecker in the
raggedy tree. The oak trees in my neighborhood are ravished by moths.
In the morning I hold my hot coffee ceramic mug in my hands
letting the heat free up my bones and joints.
Next book to read is CONVERSATIONS WITH FRIENDS, a novel by
Sally Rooney. I am also intrigued by the
NYT’s report of Science Fiction books by Samuel Delany.
