I wake to the sounds of one bird outside my open window.  It is still dark I mumble. More birds join in.

I arrive early for our 10am meeting.  I sit in my car slowly reading O PIONEERS  by Willa Cather. A reread and it is so wonderfully written.  I am reading books I read in the past.

I stop at Safeways for only three items, popcorn, sodas and milk.  I am seduced by fudge and cake and yogurt.  I leave as quickly as I can.

My deck is covered in red geranium petals.  I water the few dry plants under the eaves.
