Early morning annual blood draw at the Hartnell Medical
Center. No coffee or food before The
calm worker tied a cloth around my arm and pushed a needle into the crack of my
elbow. Blood filled several glass
cylinders. A wrap bandage and I was
done. Overcast sky. Sea gulls on the roof calling out and
flapping their wings.
Had lunch at Smash Burger in Marina. French
fries, a salted caramel milk shake and lots of ketchup and salt. Easy to get a table with CSUMB students on
spring break.
Finally visited the Friends of Marina Library used book
store. Bought three books for a total of
$4.50. I am beginning to reread some
books I read 40 years ago.
Outside Martinez Hall in Marina I saw the black plastic kill
boxes by the side of the building. Umm they too have a rat problem. I am on the look out for these boxes where
ever I go. I am reassured that it is not
just my neighborhood. I see these boxes
all over the peninsula.
