I was determined to
attend the third meeting of the day at MIIS in Monterey. I parked the car at 3pm and went looking for
the meeting room. The room was on the
second floor and there was no way I could climb the stairs. I stood around looking forlorn, and then
texted my friends that I was unable to come to the meeting. I cried.
I am reading UNTO US A SON IS GIVEN, by Donna Leon. Donna Leon’s name fills the space on the cover. The book’s title is an afterthought. But of course I would read any book with her
name on it. And this book, her 33rd book,
lives up to my expectations. If there is
a tourist calamity in Venice it is because of these books.
