A friend asks, what do you want done to your body after you die. I want to be cremated and my ashes placed with my father and brother in Monterey cemetery. I had an Italian mother. I grew up hearing stories of people being buried before they were really dead. In Italy, coffins were found with scratches on the inside. My friend talks about the alternatives of being composted or having her body donated to a medical school. Nope, not for me.
Well, I do not walk to the mail box on Tuesday. Today the walk is still on my to do list. I take several naps and I read more of Kristin Hannah’s book, THE FOUR WINDS, a novel about the dust bowl in the 1930’s.
A restlessness is building in my body. I want to break out of my house confinement and do something. I guess I am getting better. This morning the chain saws are working again in the neighbor’s yard. A swarm of tiny birds move slowly through the bottle bush branches. What they are eating in these trees.
In the early evening, when alone, I start watching THE HOSTAGE on Netflix, a political thriller. Later we watch more of Stephen Colbert, and the Netflix comedy GIRLS4EVA. This show is really growing on me. And Stephen Colbert is always funny. I love hearing my daughter’s laughter.
