In the late afternoon I walk slowly with my cane to the mail box and pick up three days of mail, bills, a new book, and slick ads from realtors wanting me to sell my home. Nope I am not selling my home. I will pay the bills and read the new book. I sit outside in the shade to do chair exercises, time to strengthen my body again.

I have a good telephone conversation with the Nurse Practitioner about my bladder issues. We are going to do more tests to see what is going on. She listens to me.

The young poet and her friend arrive in the late evening. They move quietly in the house to not wake us up.  But of course, I do hear them and am relieved they arrive safely.

I am continuing to read Kristin Hannah’s novel THE FOUR WINDS. A compelling look at the 1930’s and the depression.  Such hard times for farmers. I am inspired by their temerity and difficult lives.
