Finally, I do it. I drive to Grove market in Pacific Grove to buy their fabulous cookies. I walk in without my cane.  I check out the food aisles, buy two potatoes, one avocado and a lot of cookies. Few people in the store at 10am. Everything is expensive.  The hardest part is bringing the grocery bag into the house.

The fence worker cuts and hammers all day and the new fence is up. Now he will start on replacing the banister on the second story deck. I am agitated, so much work and so expensive.  I expect to be alive for awhile. I want to conserve my savings for emergencies.

I am totally immersed in Tracy Kidder’s ROUGH SLEEPERS book. I have liked all of his previous books. Such writing talent.

A friend recommends SECRET STATE on Prime, a 2012 British political drama.  We commiserate daily on the phone about the difficulty in finding new interesting shows to watch. This one is good enough to watch to the end.
