Wake up to fog and cold this morning. Feels like summer weather. Grayness fills the house and the windows. But I feel good, slept well. I realize I have survived three major medical conditions these last two years. I am preparing for the conversation event in May by writing out a list of all the times I said no to medical people. Mostly the consequences were good but not all.

My personal librarian comes over in the morning and we share stories.  She picks up a stack of books to return to library. She will be bringing me the new books soon. Such a good friend.

In the afternoon, the Highlands baker brings two loaves of her yummy bread. This time she stays and talks with us. Her conversation is as tasty as her bread.

I am enjoying reading a collection of essays edited by Michele Filgate, WHAT MY MOTHER AND I DON’T TALK ABOUT.

Kathy, do you remember Sue Bassett, an APS social worker you mentored in 1986-87? That’s me and I’m in Carmel celebrating my 80th birthday. Contact me at bassettsusan@gmail if you like.
