We meet and write, wearing warm jackets and shifting our chairs into sunlight. The wind gusted through the tall thin pine trees. These old trees are tough survivors of winter storms. They deserve a gold star.

Between the book WACO and the netflix documentary on Waco, I get the story. The human mind is complicated and creates violence and mistakes. We are caught in our opinions and stories and miss the real event.  Time to look at my own opinions and stories.

My charming daughter visits with stories of her trip to Tucson. She is helping me find an outdoor daybed for my deck.  My house is poorly insulated, cold in the winter and hot in the summer. I want to take my daily naps outside of my hot house this summer.  She patiently reminds me I have been talking about this daybed for years.

I tell my daughter I have been interested in politics and news since High School when I went to Girl’s State week long program in Davis.  Yep, that was in 1956, I think. So of course, I watch the news every day and read the New York Times.
