This morning the plein air OLLI writers are meeting at the park for our monthly session. My portable chair is ready.  I am in charge of the bell that reminds writers to be silent. Time to write and read to each other.  We begin to know each other through our writing and listening.

Sun is out and it feels cold still. During the night I pull off my comforter and then later pull it back over my cool body. At 6 am I hear the day’s first airplane fly over the town. At 10pm I hear the military bugle end the day.

My back yard is a wonderful mix of wild grasses and flowering plants. I dread having to cut this meadow down during fire season.

Yes, I am continuing to read WACO.  I am now at point when everyone is maiming and killing each other with guns. I want to skip ahead to the end.  The fighting is not interesting to me. How these folks came to this impasse is fascinating but the ending is violent and predictable.
