My sister and I compare hands. She has multiple autoimmune issues and I am just old with cancer. We both have arthritis, and trigger fingers, and fingers bent at the top joint. Blotches of deep red bruises appear on my hands. Her thumbs hurt and she wears hand braces for flare ups. We come to no conclusion about our hands.
I am entranced with STRANGERS TO OURSELVES by Rachel Aviv. I keep pausing to think how this applies to my life. What stories am I living with? Are the stories useful? The book is well written and entertaining and thought provoking. Just what I am looking for.
The Meals on Wheels volunteers appear each morning even in the rain and wind. My new heroes. I am also grateful to the house cleaners who come bi weekly to make my home livable and cozy.
Everything is ready to do my taxes. These papers and files sit on my desk. I want to do them again on paper and mail them in with stamps. Too much of my life is abstract and I want to have something tangible in my hands when I pay my taxes to support my government. I have not given up on paper money or checkbooks.
