I sit in my room with the heater on and still I am
cold. Wind blowing outside, pale
sunshine in the trees. I have started to
read Karen Auvinen’s book ROUGH BEAUTY, forty seasons of mountain living. There is a lot of winter and snow in her life
and it seeps out to my room.
I remind myself as I
get ready to leave the house and go to my noon meditation group that there are
no bears or wolves outside. The new grasses
and the flowering geraniums are flourishing with the rain.
