On Wednesday morning, my friend Michael Reid read from his new Book, NO VACANCY, homeless women in Paradise.  He became choked up.  He asked, why isn’t everyone concerned that so many old women are sleeping outside in the rain.  He writes in one chapter that people who live indoors are embarrassed when they talk with a person sleeping outside. They fill up with shame.  If they could get over their shame maybe they could begin to work on creating homes for everyone.  It is the shame that stops us.
