I went on line this morning before reading the newspaper
paper. For days I have been wanting to
buy something. The hunger to shop was
just too strong. So, I bought MY YEAR OF
DIRT AND WATER, Journal of a Zen monk’s wife in Japan, by Tracy Franz. Actually,
I bought two copies to give for Christmas gifts to my family. When I read it several months ago, I liked it
and now keep thinking about the stories she tells. I was also impressed that it had been
reviewed by the New York Times. How does a book become reviewed by the NYT, the
holy grail of publishing?
