I have a telephone conversation with the scheduler at the cancer center. For the last two years, at the time of the monthly chemo treatment, I meet with a nurse practitioner as part of the treatment routine. Now I am told my insurance (Medicare) requires me to meet with her several days before treatment. Another trip to the center for an appointment of unknown value. So is Medicare changing their regulations. More to explore.  Is this part of DOGE disruption, or just my confusion?

A friend comes to visit late in the day.  She brings carrot cake from Rosine’s, my favorite. We talk and eat snacks and watch the Newshour on PBS. And the sun is warm and the conversation keeps going.

I am reading the 2006 book WHEN A CROCODILE EATS THE SUN, a memoir of Africa by Petre Godwin. A compelling read about the collapse of the Zimbabwe at the turn of the century. So many similar problems happening in our country now.

I have found another likable show THE LAST DETECTIVE on Britbox. The lead detective is a kind thoughtful quirky detective who is misunderstood by his peers.
