Mid afternoon, hot day, sirens are blaring outside in my neighborhood. Regular sirens and then a new sound, horn blaring, some sort of alert. And the sounds stop and now it is still hot but quiet. Then the roaring sounds of gas engine vehicles slowly fill the air.
Sometimes I look at my hands and arms and see the thin winkled skin. Yep, I am really old. I am both surprised and not.
The pile of books by my bedroom reading chair is precariously high. I start a new book, EVERYTHING IS TUBERCULOSIS by John Green. The TB bacteria is a healing medicine for bladder cancer for some patients. Now I am getting the docetaxel drug made from the bark of a yew tree. This bark can be a poison or a healing medicine. Lots of precautions needed when in treatment for bladder cancer.
I continue to watch the grim political news with Rachel Maddow and Ari Melber. Last evening I watch one more episode of THE RESIDENCE, a quirky vacation from politics.
