49 degrees temperature in my bedroom this morning. I get up, close the window and turn on the heat. I eat breakfast while wrapped in a blanket and wearing my orange puffer jacket.  The sun is warming the south facing part of the house.

I walk most days on my deck, back and forth, checking out the town and the neighbors. Now I am doing part of my walking without a cane. Building up my confidence that I can do this safely. It’s my knees that need attention.

A friend told me a charming story on Friday and now I can’t remember it. I remember the feeling charmed, but not the actual story. I worry that I have holes in my brain where information disappears.

I am still reading CREATION LAKE, almost done. I am not sure if I like this strange story but I will finish. I watch reports of the LA fires obsessively. The fire stories have replaced the killing stories in the Middle East. And then I watch episode 2 of THE PITT, the frenetic story of a hospital emergency room.
