     My two daughters and I eat a pasta and salad dinner in the living room while watching the new movie SHIRLEY on netflix. Shirley Chisholm biography.  Triggers memories of the 1970’s as if it was just yesterday.  I was in my 30’s during those years, a single mother with three kids, working full time at the welfare office.

     Gusty winds bring in the rain clouds. I walk on the deck for my daily exercise. Plants are blooming, the air is unusually clear.

     I have a message conversation with the urologist on MY CHART about treatment dates in the spring. This part of MY CHART is working for me. I talk with a charming friend who has just learned she too has bladder cancer. I now have a bladder cancer buddy.

     I am reading DAY by Michael Cunningham, his new novel. He is such a good writer.  A treat to read.
