The dabbled sunlight flows through the living room windows. Late afternoon. I am reading a book in my recliner chair. Of course, the unseen dogs continue to bark, day and night. I feel cozy and well, and wonder what I am going to cook for dinner.
Outside the plants are pushing forward with blossoms. A friend spends several hours sweeping, pulling weeds, and pruning the bushes.
Tasks begin to pile up, waiting for me. A broken lamp in my bedroom, income tax forms to be completed, table to be cleared and seeds to be planted. I go to bed without washing the day’s dishes.
Last night I watch another episode of NORTHERN EXPOSURE with all the familiar characters. Feels like a home coming when I tune into this old series.
