     The infusion medication for bladder cancer is called docetaxel, derived from the yew tree. This tree is historically known for being both poisonous and healing.  I will hold the image of the healing tree in my heart.

     I fear chemotherapy is this gigantic active volcano, a place that is dangerous and a killer.  Now I see it is just an old worn building with dusty windows and tired workers doing their best.  Not a volcano at all.

    This second infusion goes smoothly.  No pain this time. Come home, eat lunch, watch two episodes of NORTHERN EXPOSURE with my charming daughter. And then it is over.  Very tired by late afternoon.  Now I am waiting for possible side effects.

    In the evening, I can’t read.  Watch two episodes of THE DAY on netflix and play solitaire on my computer until bedtime. Drink a bottle of ensure for dinner.
