A cluster of sirens rise and fall in the neighborhood this morning.  Always I think of fire. 

A crew of rodent exclusion men arrived yesterday morning to fill in the gaps and holes in my house. All day the sounds of their work filled the house. Three year guarantee.  Traps were set in the basement for rodents still in the house. I am keeping my fingers crossed. My house feels very secure now.

We finished watching THE FOURTH ESTATE on showtime last night.  I have so much admiration for the New York Times.

Today the heater service technician comes to change the filter and inspect my heating system.  I am getting ready for winter.
