At San Carlos Beach parking lot I see
two friends walk by. We shout at each
other, laughing. I hadn’t seen them for
6 months. I get out of my car and we both are talking at the same time. We know
not to try to hug each other.
I drift awake in the early morning to
the sounds of my iPhone tingling with text messages. I resist being available at
all times. Later I gladly read the
messages from my family.
Still reading THE LAST TRIAL, several
hours yesterday. This is a slow
interesting book and I am learning to slow down my reading.
A friend asks me why I am not writing about local politics. I write about my own life experiences.
