I order an electric throw for my reading chair in anticipation
of the coming cold weather. I have
thought about this for years and now on impulse I do it.
My son stops by most days around midday after his walk. An
unexpected gift of the epidemic. Sometimes he brings a hot meal in the evening.
My daughter is still in quarantine in New York after her
California visit. Each day we check in
by text, Are you OK? I am OK.
A humming bird sits on the branch just outside my bedroom
window. I can see his heart beating in
his chest.
