I started working at Dept of Social Services at the time of
Lyndon Johnson’s war on poverty. 30
years later I retired because Bill Clinton started a war on women with his
welfare reform act.
I was sick on Wednesday the day after the dreaded shingles
shot. I have to remind myself that having shingles is worse. Not sick enough to go to the doctors but not
well enough to go to the beach.
I AM READING Rachel Cusk’s new book slowly, realizing I will
have to read it a second time to really get what she is saying about modern
life. She is good.
The piracanthus tree is covered with red berries. Now I am waiting for the migrating birds to
come and feast.
