No one from our house went to the 4th of July
parade. Foggy morning, cold, some family
members wrapped in blankets watch more episodes of Russian Doll on
Netflix. I sit in my room reading BIG
SKY, by Kate Atkinson. In the distance I
can hear the drums and the crowds.
Hard to celebrate when we have these immigrant camps on the
border. Kids separated from families; adults crowded into standing room only
cells. I see these images on the
news. I could just stop watching but I
don’t want to abandon them.
I have four books I am reading now, bit by bit. Not sure
which one I will pick up this morning.
Glad to be going to Brown Bag Zen today at noon.
