We arrive at the new gourmet Pizza restaurant when it opens at 5.  We choose to sit on the patio.  Inside music is pulsing loud.  The waitress says the music will soon be turned on outside.  We groan.  We want to hear our conversations. But she lies.  The patio stays music free. The line of waiting people outside is astonishing.

In the morning my body takes time to realize it is still alive.  Stretching, moving slowly until I am fully functioning.

Yea, Another Martin Walker book THE BODY IN THE CASTLE WALL.  The leisurely moving mysteries are set in France. I am still reading UNDERLAND by Robert McFarland, a great book that can only be read slowly.
