My cousin sent me a book by Mary Rose O’Reilley, BRIGHT MORNING STAR.  The Amazon package was with other packages and I hadn’t noticed it was a gift. The unopened packages sat on my dinning room table for days.  Now the book is on my tall pile of next books to read.

Friends brought their dinner and we watched the Democratic debate. During commercials we talked and argued about who was the best candidate.  I am encouraged by the maturity and intelligence of the candidates.

We heard the story about the proposed new shelter on the Peninsula for women and families.  Now, with state money the shelter is coming.

In the afternoons the wind starts gusting through the trees.  The last of the four orange apricots are gone.  Hundreds of quince are ignored by birds and squirrels. And the plums are still little green knobs.  The geraniums can’t stop blooming.
