I went to a breakfast event at the Ferrante room, a 10th
floor event room. The tallest building
in Monterey, maybe in the county. Not as
tall as some of the cruise ships that come into the bay with thousands of
visitors. Tables were full, speakers spoke.
I kept looking outside the windows.
No visible whales in the bay. Saw
roof tops and hidden gardens. I could
see my car parked safely on Alvarado Street.
My shoes have holes in the side canvas. The replacement shoes wait in an unopened
Amazon box. Not quite ready to make the
switch.
Continuing to slowly read ANGLE OF REPOSE by Wallace
Stegner.
Rain and gloom prevail here in Monterey. My geraniums are blooming.
