Met a friend to write at Juice and Java in Pacific Grove.  The older couple at the table next to us had matching IPads.  The guy was seriously scrolling through his screen and the woman was humming and giggling at hers.  Then they left.

Picked up groceries at Safeways, coffee, sugar, cokes, milk, bread. I asked for the bags to be light.  The packer carried my four bags to my car.  I carried them to my house and they were light enough.

I have started reading CROSSING TO SAFETY a novel by Wallace Stegner.  I  read it when it came out 40 years ago and now want to read it again.  It is slow reading because the language is so good.

The lavender spikes are drooping in the front yard.  I pull out the hose and begin watering the front garden.  Everything is dry and grateful for the water.
