A friend arrives to help me declutter parts of my home. She heard me complain about the piles of stuff. But what I really want is lively conversation while we sit in the living room. Sometimes I don’t really know what I want until the last minute. Do I need an organized linen closet or sitting in the living room talking about our lives.

Still no rain. The garden is dry. The tall man comes to remove the trash and garbage bags by the front door, and takes some licorice I keep for him. He is tired from his work day. His visit is short.

Very few red leaves hang on the apricot tree branches now. The growing grasses are bright green. The black cat hasn’t been seen in my yard for a couple of days. I walk on the deck in the warm sunshine.

I am back to reading THE SPELL OF THE SENSUOUS, by David Abrum.  A slow deep read. I started watching a new netflix series OLD DOG NEW TRICKS. A COMEDY, not a detective show. First episode is compelling. I am tired of mystery tales. I think I know all the plots now.
