Last night just before I turn off the bedroom lights, the 10pm Army bugle announces the end the day.  The sea lions are loud, barking and calling and growling in the distance. A cacophony of sounds from hundreds of sea creatures. And then they calm down and the night is almost silent again.

Garbage day again.  I slowly pull out the bins to the street. I know I have to do it but it is a weekly chore that I resist and try to ignore. And yet I am pleased to have the accumulating trash and garbage out of the house.

I start reading THE MUSES AMONG US, eloquent listening and other pleasures of the writer’s craft, by Kim Stafford. A wonderful collection of essays. I am restless and looking for better books to read.

Of course I am following the news reports on the TV. Great to see the Jimmy Kimmel will be back tonight.  I have never watched him but now I am curious. I support free speech. I support our constitution. In the evening I watch more episodes of EXTANT on netflix.
