My roommate is away for the weekend. I am alone for a couple of days.  The house is quiet. No one visits on Sunday. I watch more TV than usual. I do my PT exercises and walk on the deck. Now I remember why I like roommates.

At noon I watch the movie THE PENGUIN LESSONS on Netflix. Better then I expected, a feel good movie with an upbeat ending.  In the evening, I watch the first two episodes of EXTANT, an intriguing Sci Fi series also on Netflix.

In the late evening, I start reading REMEMBERING MYOGEN STEVE STUCKY by Renshin Bunce. I find the book in a half hidden stack of books in my old office room.  I am particularly interested in how people face death and Steve Stucky’s story is encouraging. I do not know if I am facing death soon but I do know that I am struggling.

The fog clears up in the early afternoon. I walk slowly on the deck paying attention to the many flowers still blooming. I stop to look at the large view of Monterey and the hills in the distance. I can see the flashing lights of the airport. In this view there are no visible people, only buildings and hills and sky.
