     I email an old friend I haven’t seen for weeks.  Arey you still alive? I ask.  He replies yes and will come to visit as soon as he is over the flu. We need a better obituary system so I don’t have to call friends to learn if they are still alive.

    My friends meet for lunch at Sweet Elena’s but it is closed for the day.  We then drive to Monterey Beach hotel and learn they no longer serve lunch.  Sigh.  We drive to the Barnyard, Lafayette bakery, and finally get some good food and good talking. I introduce them to my chatty support toy chicken.

     I am still waiting for the doctor’s review of the pathology report. Uncertainty and patience is the name of the game.

     My daughter comes over and we watch another episode of the Colbert report on the LATE SHOW.  It is good to hear her robust laughter. Later I watch the Newshour and then Rachel Maddow.  Probably too much news for me.
